Why You Have No Time To Start Home Business? Yes, if you are not organized, your time management plan will fall through in most instances, however if you have an organized plan, you are well on your way to success. Organizing plays a large role in managing time.
When we are not organized, we are sending messages to other people. In addition, as you can see organizing is part of the plan. With confident I can write this article, since in my past, I had great problems with staying organized. I tried desperately to manage my time, which often failed, since I did not have the ability, or thought I did not have the ability to organize.
On my road to recovery, I learned a few special techniques that I would like to share with the readers, since someone, I am confident, will thank me for writing this article.
Many suffer as a direct result of time management negligence. Studies have reported suffering that included frustration, remorse, anxiety, and low self-esteems. When we are not organized, we do not have one of the essential tools to manage our time. So to begin, let’s get organized!
Setting priorities is the start to organizing and setting a time management plan. Organizing brings forth a more productive lifestyle.
First, you must start by not leaving your personal and work belongings floating around. If you desk and room are cluttered, and you run around like a chicken with your head cut off trying to figure out where you put that important document, then you are unorganized and your time is not managed properly. If you have stuff lying around you do not need, it is wise to toss it in the garbage, since it only taking up space, and confusing you as to what is important. You can also start by placing your documents in storage areas appropriately suiting for the documents. Some of us prefer to place our documents in alphabetical order, but other prefers to store the documents by file name.
Next, you want to place your bills and other important papers in a folder with a file name. For example, if you have bills place the phone bill in a folder named telephone.files. Avoid vague file names since it can only confuse you later. As an editor and author, I learned the golden rule, which I feel applies to all situations in life. That golden rule is KISS. (Keep it Simple Stupid). By keeping it simple, you will not feel stupid later. Create a separate file for your warranties, financial statements, insurance proofs, as well as keeping your birth records, marriage license, passports, or other important documents in a separate file. Again, be sure to label the files specifically so there are no confusions later. When you receive bills or other important papers in the mailbox, be sure to deal with each situation accordingly and in a timely manner. If you receive a lot of junk mail, toss it. Most junk mail has nothing to offer us, and often are gimmicks to lower us in a scheme. If you can’t hang with the big dogs, stay on the porch with the puppies to avoid getting taking for a ride! This advice also includes emails. If you are, on a job, that requires the use of computers and you have your own mailbox…
DO NOT give your mail address to any one that isn’t associated with your business. This will help manage your time, and keep you organized. At least once a week if you toss out the junk, clean up the goods, and organize your important documents, you are well on your way to organizing a time management plan!

One definition of “procrastination” is: “putting off or delaying an action to a later time.” Have you ever found yourself doing that? I think it’s safe to say that most of us learning to implement specific internet marketing strategies, using an affiliate marketing system, or working any number of home based business opportunities have felt like doing anything but work at one time or another.
Let’s say you have just joined the best home based internet business you could find. You already understand all the advantages of working from home, and truly do want to achieve entrepreneurial and home based business success.
You’re ready to go to work, but for some reason, you find yourself stalling. You are procrastinating. You want to “Seize the Day” with your home based business – but… you figure you can “Seize the day tomorrow.”
It could be that you are feeling a little overwhelmed by everything that needs doing when learning new internet marketing strategies or new technologies. That’s certainly understandable.
Unfortunately, every time you procrastinate in your home business you are increasing the odds that you will fall behind, waste time and money, or worst of all – quit. This is where overcoming procrastination in your home business – no matter what business or system you are using – will be essential to your success.
Plain and simple: If you are to achieve success, it is time to learn how to conquer the tendency to procrastinate.
Here is an idea that I hope will help you improve your odds of entrepreneurial and home based business success. This is not a difficult technique, and you may find that it’s fun!
The next time you feel stuck, or feel like “seizing the day tomorrow” grab a file folder and a few sheets of paper. This is your “Procrastination Dissolver” file.
On one of the blank sheets of paper, write down as many ideas as you can that are home business-related activities.
As you brainstorm about the activities for this exercise, you don’t necessarily need to list the most important, high priority activities related to your business. For example, a high priority item in your particular home or internet based business may be “call prospect A, B and C.” But, during a time where you may be procrastinating, that particular activity may be the very one you are avoiding.
So, the activities that come to mind that may be suitable for this list might look a little bit like this:
1) Visit and comment on blogs related to my home based business opportunity. 2) Consider new ideas for upcoming articles or blog entries. 3) Read and comment on an article related to a similar internet or affiliate marketing system. 4) Change a picture on my blog. 5) Investigate new places to advertise. 6) Search online for new internet marketing strategies to promote my home based business opportunity. 7) Review competitors’ pay-per-click campaigns. Find and list new keywords for my next ad campaign. 9) Read or listen to a motivational book or audio. 10) Find and add new related affiliate marketing system blogs to “Favorites.”
Are you getting the idea?
Ok – at this point in the exercise, grab another blank piece of paper, and label it “Procrastination Conquered!”!” This sheet should have 4 columns. Label the four columns, from left to right, as follows: “Date,” “Time Spent,” “Description of Activity,” and “Noticable Results.”.”
Store these sheets, along with some blank paper for future work in your Procrastination Dissolver folder. The next time you feel stuck or are procrastinating, take out this file, and choose one of the activities you have listed. Then, work on that activity.
Finally, when you have had enough of that activity, record what you did, when you did it, how much time you spent on it, and any results you may have noticed upon completion.
The result of any given activity may be as simple as, “Got a great idea for a new internet marketing strategy – Have written it down; saved to marketing folder.”
After you complete this exercise, you may find that you are now focused on work, and can move on to another, high priority business activity.
Overcoming procrastination may not always be easy, but it really is critical to your home business or internet marketing success.

The simplest way to increase your home business income is increased productivity.
If you embrace the extreme productivity tactics outlined in today’s lesson, you will stack the deck in your favour and notice immediate benefit to your mental energy, your bottom line profit and your home business success.
This has nothing to do with time management, goal setting or visualisation. They are important but the fundamental principles that hyper productive top earners have mastered is self-organization.
If you are a home business owner, an online marketer, an entrepreneur, right now in today’s fast-paced information age, there is so much available media you can potentially consume. This is why managing yourself in that environment is critical to productivity.
Let’s get one thing out in the open first and foremost about what this article is NOT about.
This article is not about time management, goal setting or visualisation. Here’s why.
Firstly, time management is a waste of time – excuse the pun. You cannot manage time. You can only manage yourself in time. Time itself is fixed.
It’s what you do within the 24 hours you get every single day that makes the difference between someone who is highly productive and someone who is easily distracted.
Secondly, there is already a wealth of excellent information and training on the value of setting out goals and visualising your success. So I’m not even going to try going there right now.
Good. Now that’s sorted, let’s get into what this article IS about and that is managing yourself in time in relation to your goals and vision of success. If you can learn to do this, you can become hyper productive in working towards your personal and business objectives.
Achieving Life Work Balance
As a general principle that spans all five extreme productivity tactics, it is important to take care of yourself so you can give back to your life, family and your business. As they say on airplanes when the oxygen mask comes down, put your own mask on first.
If you spend a portion of time looking after yourself – your mental and physical energy- you will increase your focus and productivity many fold.
Too often we mix up our life and work, we get the balance completely wrong, or reversed.
When you’re working on your business, perhaps you have experienced feeling guilty about not spending time with your family or on hobbies that we know are important in our life.
And vice versa, when we’re with our family or doing our ‘thing’, we feel guilty we should be working and worrying about all the things that aren’t getting done in your business.
Extreme tactics for managing yourself in time
Hopefully, the tactics I’m going to outline here you will find the solutions to some of your current feelings of overwhelm, distractions and focus. It’s not a conspiracy on your time, it’s a prompt to you managing yourself in time.
If you embrace these and implement even one of them (at a time), you will notice the benefits to your sanity as well as your productivity.
And of course if you increase your work productivity in the right way, as I’ll explain, you will stack the deck in your favour and your home business income will grow and grow.
Right, let’s get started.
1. Scheduling your daily activities
In today’s climate of multiple social media, electronic devices and sources of information, multi-tasking isn’t necessarily a good thing! We try to be all things to all people in all places and juggle these things throughout the day. That’s a recipe for ending the day with little productivity to show for your time.
Identifying and doing the most profitable activities in the absence of distractions will result in you becoming highly focused and hyper productive in your home business. In order to do this effectively, you need to block out certain times in your day for different types of activity.
As a priority, you should try to identify what are the activities that earn you 80% of your income – that is, your income generating activity (IGA).
For home business owners, your IGA is normally (1) your marketing and (2) your follow up.
If you’re in a multi level marketing company, another source of income is the residual commissions from your team’s productivity, so you might add (3) team training & support (and managing that activity well is a whole other topic!).
So first tactic is this. Identify what times of the day you are at your most efficient, your most creative, your most relaxed, and schedule these income generating priority activities into that hyper productive part of your day.
And give your activities a start and a finish time. If you’re not done, learn from that for future planning but move onto your next scheduled activity.
2. Dealing with overwhelm
Overwhelm is a huge problem in today’s information age and it’s growing in intensity. How you view overwhelm and information coming at you will determine how you deal with it.
The tactic here is not to try to avoid overwhelm but to embrace it and manage it.
There is so much available media and you need to think of overwhelm as being a wealth of opportunity to learn and educate yourself. Better to be overwhelmed than under whelmed, right? Overwhelm always exceeds growth.
You need to (1) learn how to be selective about what you tap into to match what you are trying to achieve and (2) schedule a time to manage this kind of information.
As information comes at you, pick out what is primary and what is peripheral and note or file it for later. The primary information, books, training, webinars, podcasts etc. is information that will support your current priorities and current IGAs.
Schedule a bit of time in your day or your week, when you have a ‘developmental’ session and consume the primary information and journal the key things you get out of it or actions you will take, techniques you will implement, and so forth. (This is what I call my wisdom journal or success journal.)
This way you stay on top of information overload and select what you tap into rather than getting distracted and going off on a tangent. (If you time out to explore or research something proactively, make sure it’s scheduled not spontaneous.)
As soon as you commit to scheduling this activity and reflect on the results of your study, you can look back after a few weeks or 3 months and see what has the biggest impact and that you know you are getting on top of managing the information.
3. Managing the ‘noise’
One of the biggest time bandits in your business is not email or twitter or facebook. It’s actually your distractions. You need to disconnect from the ‘noise’ of the distractions from people and things that you allow into your world and your ‘work’ environment that stop you from being as productive as you need to be. Set up boundaries.
Rather than trying to manage all of these streams of communication throughout the day, instead, try to batch these tasks.
For example, I run a busy and successful online internet business and managing my emails and voice messages has made a tremendous difference to my focus and my productivity.
Instead of responding ‘on the hoof’ as calls or emails come in, or even first or last thing each day, I have started to move towards a schedule where I deal with messages and calls on Mondays and Thursdays only. I know I need to respond to calls and emails but I don’t have to do it everyday.
This frees up a big chunk of my time to spend on creative tasks like writing articles, making video trainings or on research, and income generating activities. By doing this, I can be free of distractions and concentrate solely, for several hours sometimes, on these hyper productive tasks.
Another example is that Wednesday evenings are blocked out for my own personal development. I carve out that time to be in a fresh focused and distraction free environment. My husband is out that night and my kids know that mom is busy.
4. Identifying effective working environments
This one is as important as the others. It’s about getting ‘in the zone’ for whatever task you are doing. Some people are hyper productive and can work in any environment: noisy/quiet, organised/cluttered, light/dark and so on. But for most of us, you know where you work best.
However, like your most productive times (above for your high leverage activities), your most productive environments are likely to vary depending on what you are doing. If you try to do all of your different activities in one environment, you tend to dilute your focus.
For example, the place in your home or elsewhere that you are (or are likely to be) your most creative for activities like copywriting or market research is probably not your home office where you might do your calls or emails.
Find your environment that brings out the best in you. Test it out, enjoy the process of finding your breakthrough zone. It doesn’t matter where you go to, is as long as it works for you and you can do your creative work, or your personal development, in a fresh and focused place free of distractions.
Have you heard people say their best ideas come to them when they are in the bath? This is shown to be because the brain is most creative when you are the most relaxed. So find an environment where you are the least anxious and the most relaxed so you can be your most creative. This is super conductor for being ‘in the zone’ and this is when you’ll be your most productive.
5. Placing a value on your time
Work out what is your actual dollar value on your time. Principle learned from Dan Kennedy. The example is to work out what your hourly value is in your home business.
You know what you made in the previous calendar year and what you want or expect to make this calendar year – your income goal.
Do the calculation for yourself and you will never look at each hour of your day in the same way again!
OK, so say your income goal is 0,000 in next calendar year.
Set down 250 workdays per year, 8 hours per day as a standard workday, taking account of weekends and family time or other commitments. This gives you 2000 hours of work per year.
Simple maths 0,000 divided by 2000 hours gives you 0 per hour.
BUT. Research has proved that even with top business achievers, the Donald Trump’s of this world, only one-third of your workday is revenue-producing time.
So in reality, your time is actually worth around 0 per hour, almost three times what you thought you were worth.
This makes you look at your time a whole lot differently! All those distractions and urgent but not important tasks that waste an hour here and 30 minutes there, will cost you in income to your home business.
Getting rid of the time bandits is not you being rude or mean, it means you are disciplined and focused.
In taking this approach, it is the end result that makes the profit, nothing else matters. If you can actually see that ordinary people are getting extraordinary income from an online business, it makes sense to explore something like this a lot more seriously.

What do you think of time management – get more work done in less time. That’s what precisely time management tips deals with. Better time management skills mean activities, ideas or methods that help a person perform them in a speedier, quality-conscious manner within an allotted time frame, be it personal or professional.
Business time management centers on utilizing time as a resource while in planning and performance stages. Time has immense potential and if not taken care can lead to redundancy. Therefore, on should not lose sight of the rare and limited resource of time and see the goals as definite milestones to achieve. It’s important to do things as per time-frame within the given time at one’s disposal.
Businesses are characterized of their overwhelming pressure of multi-tasking activities. They are good many of them to accomplish, more so, a variety of activities that one is faced with. One has to be extremely orderly and methodical in handling these jobs or activities. The official planner on the table should set the work plans for the particular day. While the previous day should be spent on scheduling the activities and the probable time for that, one has to carry them off the next working day, keeping to the planners, as far as possible.
Prioritization of activities makes goals attainable and less stressful. The most important ones go fast in the list and disposed of early, leaving some room for relaxed-thinking, which often is at the bottom of creative thoughts. For the not-so-important tasks, one may also keep them for the time of the day when one goes low in terms of productivity. Some prefer deliberate over-planning of targets with an expectation of achieving more, a technique which may or may not work at times.

Procrastination-A Dangerous Obstacle For A Successful Home Business
You started a Home Business with a lot of anticipation. You seem to be doing everything right but Procrastination seems to be getting hold of you and the progress you hoped to make in your Home Business appears to be eluding you. This scenario is not new and is encountered by quite a few new Home Business entrepreneurs.
They started hoping their path will be a bed of roses but when they find the going getting tough they tend to procrastinate.
Yes, what is Procrastination? The dictionary defines it as “deferring or postponing action” People who are afflicted by Procrastination know it themselves. Few make a genuine attempt to change but many don’t. They allow things to drag on or refuse to take the first positive step towards any solution.
Successful people seldom procrastinate. This is what propels them towards their goal and success in life. Even when they do procrastinate at times, they don’t allow procrastination to take hold of themselves.
How then can you stop procrastination and succeed in your Home Business
1. Set Realistic Goals.
Never undertake to do anything much more than what you can chew. If you attempt to do something that is beyond your capacity, the whole exercise might become overwhelming and prevent you from getting started. You then tend to procrastinate.
2. Prepare Lists.
It is always advantageous to prepare a list of the things you want to do. This will help you to achieve your goals and also help you to prioritize the tasks. A list with a short term objective and another with a long term objective. Break them again into smaller steps. The whole purpose of two lists is to motivate you to get started and to stop procrastination. A person with a tendency to procrastinate will never get started if he views a long list of tasks to be accomplished. On the other hand viewing a shorter list can encourage him to get started.
3. Always have a Deadline.
Deadlines always play a very important role when you plan to achieve some task. It has to be realistic and attainable. Unattainable deadlines can only cause frustration and develop a feeling of incompetence with respect to your ambition of operating a successful Home Business.
4. Get Started.
Once you have done all the preliminaries such as reading, planning, getting good advice etc. put your best foot forward and gets started. Perfection is not necessary. All your preparatory work will be of no avail if you hesitate or vacillate. This reminds me of a Chinese proverb: “He who deliberates fully before taking a step will spend his entire life on one leg.”
5. Read Success and Inspiring Stories.
Regular reading of the lives of successful men and women will inspire you to emulate them. Successful people seldom or never procrastinate and reading these stories will gradually wean you out of your tendency to procrastinate.
6. Reward Yourself.
Whenever you complete your task or achieve your minor goal, reward yourself. Take time out and enjoy the company of your friends or take your family out. This will give you a sense of joy, fulfillment and achievement and will motivate you further to be a successful Home Business entrepreneur.
Conclusion.
Successful people no doubt deliberate fully before making a positive move but they don’t procrastinate. They don’t hesitate to take the first step forward and that is what matters most. You too can stop Procrastination by following these methods and propel your Home Business to the top.

One of the most common issues that comes up for business owners is procrastination -wasting time, putting obstacles in the way of taking action towards goals, making excuses for delays, creating confusion/ ‘busyness’ etc. Procrastination is a self-defeating behavior.
As human beings, we are adept at creating convincing language that allows us to rationalize taking specific action or not taking action. We become masterful in presenting a logical sounding viewpoint that successfully defends our position to procrastinate. In this way, we give ourselves permission to step into avoidance, despite the results we say we want!
Having a game plan with action steps can foster procrastination. Over time we develop an automatic patterned response to change, convinced that what we are doing is moving us forward. In reality, we’re just playing the same old game, creating the illusion of moving forward. Bottom line – get real by getting honest with yourself.
As a small business owner do you:
1. Keep saying you’re going to do something and don’t follow through? Saying one thing and doing something else? The intended action continues to exist in the future as a goal, always out of reach without being fully actualized. The dangling carrot.
2. Prioritize other things first before you can get to what you say you really want? Somehow the starting time keeps getting pushed back. Are you a yesbutter? Yes, I want this but.. Yes I’m excited to get going on this, but… yes but…, yes but
3. Overextend (over commit) so much of your time you never quite get to some things because you’re too busy? Some people think scheduling is just a time management problem. In actuality, it’s about making better decisions in how you allocate your time. What do you always manage to fit in despite all the busyness?
I could go on citing examples.
Working with more than 1500 people over the last 17 years, I have often found fear at the root of procrastination. Fear of failure/success, change, unknown, can be power-full drivers to avoid taking action. The first hurdle to address may be in recognizing patterns of procrastination. People can become so proficient in rationalizing avoidance they lack the clarity to see the creative forms of this behavior. Furthermore; self-defeating behavior is caused by self-defeating attitudes. Identifying internal attitudes and assumptions is a key element in fully dismantling self-defeating behavior.
Common objections to justify procrastination:
1. I can’t! I’m too fearful! I’m not strong enough! Is that really true? (Or is this your drama?) Can’t??? Try won’t – life is about making choices.
2. I can’t afford to! How often do you use money as an excuse to deny having something you need? Is there a cost to you to NOT take action? If there is a cost, at what point is the cost too high a price to pay? Consider short/long term value for a questionable investment.
3. I don’t have time! How much time is needed to take one step? What changes can you make to open up some time?
4. Now is not a good time! It’s not the right time! When is? What would the right time look like?
5. I’m not ready! What needs to change for you to become ready? What does being ready look like?
6. It’s too hard/too big! What smaller steps or ways of looking at it will make it more manageable/attainable? What support/help is available?
Procrastination means you never have to commit to an action make a mistake, fail/succeed, take a stand on reaching a goal (take responsibility to make things happen) change your life or yourself. You may make some progress, but continue to hold yourself back. Progress occurs at a controlled, manageable pace, enough to keep you interested and wanting more – but always short of reaching your heart’s full desire.
Are you a procrastinator? How is procrastination impacting your business success?
Consider the following questions:
• What are the mechanisms/reasons/excuses you use to block your success? – i.e. over-promising and under-delivering, time management, poor marketing, negative self-talk?
• What do you tell yourself (and others) to make your procrastinating behavior, okay?
• Have you really made the decision to be successful?
• What beliefs do you have about success? Are they true?
• How will your life change if you change this behavior?
• Who will you become if you change this behavior?
In the book, Get Out Of Your Own Way, the authors, Mark Goulston, MD., and Philip Goldberg say “ There are, of course, many reasons why people procrastinate: self-doubt, boredom, fear of failure, the feeling of being unready or unprepared and so on. But these feelings by themselves don’t necessarily lead to procrastination. Often, what tips the scales is going through them alone, with no one to help you, bolster you, or cheer you on.”
How to stop procrastinating?
1. The first step is to make a decision to have the success you want. Say “yes!”
2. Then create the vision you want in detail – paint a picture that excites you to move towards achieving that result. You must have a good marketing/business plan!!!! This is your road map to success.
3. Begin identifying your action steps and break them down into small steps with timelines.
4. Design a defensive strategy to deal with your procrastination. Define concrete actions. ie. You have warm business leads but don’t make the calls. One suggestion – make it a game so that making calls might be fun. Be creative.
5. If you’re a solo-entrepreneur being a part of a network is critical so you don’t become isolated.
6. Join a mastermind group or form one.
7. Need more help to stay motivated and on track? HIRE A COACH!
One thing I’ve come to know is that people put time and energy into what they love – what’s most important to them. I’ve watched people move mountains, jump over hurdles for something they love – total buy-in. I know when I’m working with a procrastinator or with someone who really wants to move by what they are willing to do and unwilling to accept to get what they want. People who are ready to take action are too excited to wait and are willing to commit to whatever action is needed to reach their goals. If you keep pushing your dreams away by continuing your love affair with procrastination…..it’s your life, it’s your choice.

The Practice of Time Management Gets You and Your Business to the Top!
Are you a victim of ‘I have no time’ attitude? If not it is very good. It shows that you know how to manage your time in your business and personal life. A good time manager makes timely decisions and takes timely actions. That keeps his business ahead of competition.
Time management helps you to lead a stress free life, enjoy what you do in your business as well as in life and have more time for your family and leisure.
Time management needs self discipline. It involves self motivation, pre planning and organizing the way you work. Time Management develops you to be time conscious, skilled to identify and accept opportunities. It gives you the ability to maximize productivity of your work with optimum efficiency.
Why manage time? There is a theory that says that the Work expands to fill the time available for a task. That implies that if we do not manage time the jobs will expand to fill the time allotted. Then, less work in more time will result.
Since time is scarce we have to save it. We have to plan each activity to optimize the use of time. If we allow more time for a task than necessary, then the time will be wasted as time passed cannot be pulled back. Since time gone is time lost we have to manage the available time to do more.
There are barriers to time management. Some of these barriers are listed below;
a) Bad working habits,
b) Inadequacy of skills of handling tasks,
c) Fear and negative attitude,
d) Habit of postponing of doing things,
e) Poor and disorganized working environment,
f) Lack of prioritizing,
g) Absence of pre-planning and prior arrangements to perform tasks.
h) Habitually thinking that work is difficult or unpleasant,
An important step in time management will be Goal Setting. Time Managers are goal driven. They set goals and focus on reaching those goals by planning meticulously each task in a way to optimize time and performance. If you want to manage your time effectively then you too will have to be goal focused and goal driven. You have to focus on achieving your goals that enable you to manage your time effectively. You can identify your goals separately as personal goals, business goals, professional goals etc.
First thing first and for time managers their first daily task, on rising early in the morning, is to think of planning the days work. They plan with a fresh mind the activities to be performed by identifying goals for the day. Then they schedule each task on priority basis. Planning they do carefully by putting on paper for each activity the time needed, the actions required, how to perform or whom to delegate, deadlines for completing etc.
It will certainly help to identify the steps needed to achieve each task by breaking down activities in to smaller components in a manageable sequence. You can plan your day in this manner and have full control of your time.
The next step is to plan and find ways to avoid interruptions like telephone calls, unannounced visitor, noise disturbances and activities irrelevant to the task that deviate attention. By making arrangements for avoiding disturbances will enable the performing of the set goals as scheduled with least interruptions.
The final routine for the day is to do a time- review. This is done by systematically analyzing of the tasks completed as per the plans, their rate of success and failure, what went wrong and what preventive actions needed, what should be priority for the next day to make next day productive and useful.
The time management enables us to focus on what is important, to meet set deadlines and to perform important activities as priority. The time managers identify clearly the different nature of each activity that can be categorized as follows;
a) Urgent and important,
b) Not urgent but important,
c) Urgent but not important,
d) Not urgent and not important.
The categorization of tasks as above assists us to prioritize work, avoid stress, avoid anxiety, and focus on achieving results.
